Cost of conservation in Kaziranga, India

Rhinoceros unicornis
A BBC radio report and article on the tactics used to deter rhino poachers in Kaziranga NP, India.

Over 100 people have been shot by guards in Kaziranga over the last 20 years - many of these people were innocent local people whose families claim that oversight, and due process and redress are lacking - significant in light of India's aim for more 'shoot on sight' policies across the country.
